Synopsis[]
Caroline Bamber, Governor of Saint Marie, is poisoned with cyanide at her leaving party. Commissioner Selwyn Patterson was the one who handed her a glass of champagne, and he swears that no one could have tampered with it without him knowing. There is a dispute between Caroline and the President of the General Council of the French island of Saint-Robert, Francois Tromeur, over the small nearby island Spinner's Rock.
