Murder on the Plantation[1] is the first episode of Series 2 of Death in Paradise.
DI Richard Poole struggles to muster that loving feeling for the local voodoo festival celebrating romance and friendship. However, an understanding of the nature of love, friendship and the ties that bind, proves vital in solving a mysterious murder at a local sugar plantation.

Synopsis[]
The owner of a sugar plantation, Roger Seymour, is discovered in his mill with a machete in his back. Detective Inspector Richard Poole and his team have countless suspects: ex-wife Nicole Seymour, nephew Alex Seymour, new girlfiend Kim Neville, each with cast-iron alibis. Broken glass from a torch, letters JOH scrawled in blood by the victim, a disappearing small girl and a 200-year-old mystery of disappearing slaves are the only clues.
