Catherine Bordey appears since 1:2 Wicked Wedding Night. She is played by Élizabeth Bourgine.
She is Camille Bordey's mother, owner of Catherine's Bar where she provides a place for the team to talk over cases and celebrate, and since 6:8 Murder in the Polls she is the Mayor of Saint Marie.
Although she seems a good cook generally, Richard Poole complains vociferously about her chicken soup when she makes it to help him recover from a fever in 1:6 An Unhelpful Aid. There is an echo of this in the faces Humphrey Goodman pulls when supplied with chicken soup to help him recover from concussion in 5:5 Lost Identity.
Catherine is a kind woman who is a often a sort of motherly figure to many of the police officers in Honoré. She cares fiercely for her daughter Camille and despite her kindness still shows courage and is incredibly headstong. She often gives advice to various members of the team and is encouraging in the force's romantic interests, such as when she tells Neville Parker to confess to Florence Cassell.
Catherine is single for much of the series as she divorced from her husband and Camille's father Marlon Croft. She had a fling with Aiden Miles in season one that ended when he was exposed as a murderer. She also occasionally flirted with Jack Mooney but it never became more than that.
Trivia[]
