Beyond Paradise is a BBC/BritBox crime drama television series, which is a spin-off show of Death in Paradise, which first aired on 24th February 2023. It stars Kris Marshall.
The series is set in the fictional town of Shipton Abbott, in South Devon.
General Synopsis[]
Beyond Paradise follows Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman, who permanently left Saint Marie at the end of Man Overboard - Part Two (S6E6) to return to the UK and be with his love Martha Lloyd. After becoming engaged, Humphrey joins Martha in her British hometown of Shipton Abbott near the Devonshire coast, where he takes leadership of the local police force, making a considerable impression with the existing officers: Detective Sergeant Esther Williams, Police Constable Kelby Hartford, and office support worker Margo Martins, to bring a whole new approach to police work.

Casting[]
Based on numbers, Humphrey Goodman was one of the most popular detectives on Death in Paradise, and the show's producers knew he resonated with audiences around the world. The producers felt audiences wanted to know what happened to Humphrey and Martha since leaving Saint Marie for the UK.
Zara Ahmadi and Barbara Flynn have also featured in Death in Paradise, in different roles.
