A Personal Murder is the fourth episode of Series 5 of Death in Paradise.
The team must solve a deeply personal case when Dwayne's old mentor is found dead and a text message from beyond the grave says it was murder. DI Goodman tries to unleash his inner gourmand.

Synopsis[]
Dwayne attends the funeral of his old mentor, Cedrik Verga, but is shocked to receive a text from him saying "I was murdered", especially since he had placed Cedrik's phone in the coffin with him just beforehand. The investigation brings up more unusual clues, including a watch Cedrik bought, which later proves vital to revealing the truth behind a dark secret kept by Cedrik, his brother and two friends, that leads Dwayne to question everything about the man who changed his life.
